Authentic Bierkeller with Piste Hägen Brass

The Ring O’ Bells, Marple – Sunday 27th July – Another outing for The Marple Bierkeller Band  – Piste Hägen Brass.

Pulling Together for Cheltenham

On Friday May 16th the lady members of The Marple Band heaved-to for a sponsored boat pull to raise much needed funds to send the band to the National Brass Band finals in Cheltenham.

The aim for this event was to drag-in over £1,000 by all the band members gaining sponsorship and making donations then heaving The Bell, a 72ft steel narrow boat operated from The Ring O’ Bells pub near top lock in Marple. Continue Reading

Grand Opening of New Bandroom – Gala Concert

The Brass Bands of Marple will officially open their new band room on May 18th in Marple Memorial Park, with a joint Gala Concert featuring The Marple Band and Hawk Green Band.

For over a century the Brass Bands of Marple have played a big role in the community, yet never had their own rehearsal facility. In an ambitious attempt to provide such a facility, the Charles Ingham Band Room Fund was formed in honour of Charlie Ingham who was a passionate supporter of Marple’s bands. Continue Reading
